Alina is an Associate and member of the Public Finance practice group at Maynard Cooper.
Alina has experience as bond counsel, borrower's counsel and bank counsel in numerous public finance transactions, including the financing or refinancing the construction of assisted living, educational and manufacturing facilities. She has represented clients in business formation, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. Alina also assists clients in developing estate plans and in probate administration.
Alina comes to Maynard Cooper from a national firm where she served as bond counsel in 8 tax exempt and taxable bond issuances totaling $300+ million to fund the acquisition and construction of new senior living facilities. Alina also performed due diligence and facilitated $18 million sale of 20+ cellular phone stores primarily in Florida, including drafting disclosure schedules and corporate resolutions.
Alina received her J.D. with an Estate Planning Certificate and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While there, she received book awards in Estates and Trusts as well as in Elder Law. Alina also served as an executive board member of the Law College Council. Prior to attending law school, Alina studied at the University of South Carolina where she was both a McNair Scholar and a Lieber (National Merit) Scholar. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and English from the South Carolina Honors College.
