Brian handles employee benefits and executive compensation issues, including an array of matters involving 409A compliance, employee benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions, severance issues, benefits-related labor relations issues, benefits-related bankruptcy issues, and proceedings before government agencies (IRS and DOL) with respect to benefits and compensation matters. Brian regularly provides assistance to financial institutions, corporate clients, and investment firms regarding ERISA and employee benefits matters.
Before joining the firm, Brian's practice involved tax planning, entity formation, and merger and acquisition matters. This broad practice allowed Brian to develop an appreciation of the wide range of legal and regulatory issues affecting business owners and executives. Brian leverages this experience to provide clients with technical advice that reflects the client's business objectives while addressing all relevant ERISA/employee benefits matters.
