Ben is the Senior Maritime Associate in the firm’s Mobile office and is a member of the Admiralty & Maritime and Energy & Natural Resources practices at Maynard Cooper.
He is an avid small craft sailor and his love for the water manifests in the work he does for clients. He has extensive admiralty experience, handling matters ranging across nearly the entire maritime spectrum, defending claims under the Jones Act, OPA 90, APPS, and the general maritime law.
Ben received his LL.M. in Admiralty from Tulane University where he was awarded the Maritime Law Fellowship, completing a rigorous course of study in nearly all aspects of maritime law and also serving as the head research assistant to Messrs. Martin Davies and Robert Force, two of America’s preeminent scholars in the field.
He served as a law clerk for Judge William E. Cassady of the United States District Court for Southern Alabama for two years. Ben received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and holds a B.A. from Duke University.
