Jessica is an Associate in Maynard Cooper’s Birmingham office and a member of the firm’s Fund Formation and Investment Management Practice, Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and Private Equity Practice groups.
She advises investment fund sponsors on various aspects of their businesses, including fundraising, structuring and regulatory compliance. She has worked with funds-of-funds, hedge funds, feeder funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds. She also has experience representing private companies that are raising capital through private placement transactions. In addition, Jessica represents investors in connection with investing in private funds and private placements.
Clients regularly engage Jessica to assist with state and federal registration as an investment adviser, with a focus on continuing compliance and disclosure requirements. In addition, she counsels investment adviser clients regarding registration and compliance with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Jessica and the firm’s Fund Formation and Investment Management team have significant experience conducting mock SEC audits to prepare clients and their key personnel for actual examination reviews by the SEC.

Prior to joining Maynard Cooper, Jessica was a Compliance Manager for SandPointe, LLC, a private investment, global research and asset management firm located in West Palm Beach, Florida. While in law school, she worked with the Enforcement Division and the Asset Management Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Miami Regional Office. Jessica was recently asked to speak at the Palm Beach Investment Research Group on the topic of Family Office compliance with the Investment Advisors Act.
Jessica earned her J.D. magna cum laude from NOVA Southeastern University Shepard Board Law Center, and she holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Mississippi.
