Rich is an Associate and member of the Real Estate practice at Maynard Cooper.
His work focuses on the representation of buyers, sellers, developers, landlords and tenants in all types of real estate matters, including acquisition, development and leasing transactions in markets throughout the United States. Rich’s practice has a particular emphasis on commercial leasing transactions, in which he has represented both landlords and tenants across a full spectrum of transactions, including corporate headquarters leases, sale-and-leaseback arrangements, and ground leases, particularly in the banking, retail, medical, office, and educational context. He also has extensive experience in representing landlords and tenants in navigating them through the various issues and disputes that arise out of their commercial lease agreements.
Rich has been a lecturer in the area of commercial real estate law, and recently served as a speaker at the National Business Institute’s “Ultimate Guide to Commercial Real Estate Law,” in which he discussed commercial lease agreements and the negotiation of key provisions for different types of real property.
Rich is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was Notes Editor of, and published in, the Georgia Law Review. He also graduated magna cum laude from Hampden-Sydney College, where he was Captain of the Men’s Varsity Tennis Team, and named as the Conference Rookie Player of the Year as a freshman and as the Conference Player of the Year as a senior, and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Alpha Theta, and Leadership Society of 1791.
Prior to joining the firm, Rich served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Steve C. Jones, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Honorable J. Randal Hall, United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
