Huntsville is Alabama’s fourth largest city, home to more than 180,000 people. It sits in a scenic part of north Alabama, approximately 20 miles from the state’s border with Tennessee.
Huntsville has a large technology sector, especially in the areas of aerospace and defense, anchored by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the U.S. Army’s Redstone Arsenal. The presence of NASA earned Huntsville the nickname “The Rocket City.”
Contributing to the technology boom in Huntsville is the University of Alabama in Huntsville. UAH has a large focus on research and many of its students graduate with degrees in engineering or science.
Downtown Huntsville features Big Springs International Park which houses the Huntsville Museum of Art.
Maynard Cooper’s main office is located on the perimeter of downtown.
