Tuscaloosa is Alabama’s fifth-largest city with a population of more than 95,000 people. The city is most famously known as the home to the University of Alabama and its storied football program. The University of Alabama has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 30,000 students.
In addition to the University, Tuscaloosa is also home to a Mercedes Benz automobile assembly plant. The plant, which opened in 1997, ushered in a boom of automotive manufacturing in Alabama.
Tuscaloosa also 7,470-seat state-of-the-art facility amphitheater situated on the banks of the Black Warrior River, hosting major performances and community-wide events
Neighboring Northport has been named as one of the top 100 Small Art Communities in the nation, hosting the nationally and internationally recognized annual Kentuck Festival featuring over 270 acclaimed folk, visionary, and contemporary artists and experts.
