Irene Motles is an Associate in the firm's Insurance and Financial Services Litigation Practice in the Birmingham office. Her practice focuses on complex financial services litigation.
Prior to joining the firm as an Associate, Irene clerked with the Maynard Cooper & Gale litigation practice groups for two summers.
Irene earned her J.D. cum laude from The University of Alabama School of Law, where she was a Hugo L. Black Scholar, member of the Alabama Law Review where she was an Articles Editor, and recognized as a Top Overall Oralist by the Hispanic National Bar Association during the 2016 Moot Court Competition. Irene received her B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also received third place in the ABA Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s 2016 Law Student Writing Competition, for her paper Ridesharing Insurance.
After graduating from law school, Irene traveled to Russia where she rode the Trans-Siberian railway from Moscow to Beijing by herself. During her trip, she experienced a true triumph of willpower: managing to not adopt a pride of Siberian puppies one day in the Irkutsk market square before having to cross the border into Mongolia.
