DE-HIRING: THE ART OF WORKPLACE SEPARATIONS

Matt Stiles and Matthew Cannova, attorneys at Maynard Cooper, hosted a webinar on April 5 on De-Hiring: The Art of Workplace Separations. This months session reviewed various issues that arise with employee separations, including best practices to avoid lawsuits when forced to discipline and terminate employees, understanding issues related to layoffs, severance packages, and proper processes for employee separations.

Matt Stiles is a shareholder with the firm, and practices in the Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practices. He represents employers in all facets of the employment relationship, with an emphasis in employee benefits and executive compensation, compliance and strategic counseling, labor relations, employment litigation, trade secrets and restrictive covenants, affirmative action compliance in the federal contract sector and management training. Matthew Cannova is an associate with the firm in the Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practices. He represents employers and benefits professionals across the country in a range of strategic employee benefit plan design and executive compensation compliance matters.
