DOING BUSINESS IN CUBA
Maynard & Gale with the support of the Hispanic American Business Association of the Gulf Coast (HABAGC) hosted a half-day business development program on How to do Business with Cuba.
With the potential opening of the Cuban Market and already direct established business through the Alabama Port, regional businesses are positioned to benefit from business with Cuba. The Honorable Rubén Ramos Arrieta, the minister counselor at the Cuban Embassy's Economic and Trade Office discussed the Cuban economic situation and international insertion, updating the Cuban economic model, and perspectives of economic relations between Cuba and the United States.
There are a lot of questions companies have about how to enter a new market, and those questions are magnified when it comes to doing business with Cuba. In addition to Ruben Ramos Arrieta, the program featured multiple officials and experts that discussed the opportunities that exist in Cuba.

While significant challenges remain, the President’s decision to reestablish diplomatic relations with Cuba and ease some commercial and travel restrictions is a step toward increased economic opportunity in our hemisphere - particularly for the Mobile market.
