CHARLIE HARTMAN, J.T. MALATESTA AND STEPHANIE MAYS NAMED BBJ RISING STARS OF LAW
Maynard is pleased to announce that shareholders John Thomas "J.T." Malatesta and Stephanie Houston Mays and associate Charles M. "Charlie" Hartman have all been named to the 2017 Birmingham Business Journal "Rising Stars of Law" list. This annual list honors and highlights up-and-coming lawyers in the Birmingham Metro area. Honorees are chosen based on their contributions to their firms and their potential to shape the industry both locally and beyond.
J.T. is chair of the firm's Cybersecurity & Privacy practice and also leads the firm's e-discovery practice. When asked what his favorite thing about being an attorney is, he said, "Being that lifeline in a time of need."
Stephanie is a member of Maynard's Labor & Employment practice. The BBJ asked her why she decided to become a lawyer, Stephanie said, "After interning at a local TV station, radio station and my current firm while a Birmingham Southern College student, I knew attending law school would open doors for me to serve my community, problem solve on a daily basis and interact with diverse individuals across industries."
Charlie is a member of the firm's Corporate, Securities & Tax practice group. On his philosophy on serving clients, Charlie told the BBJ he strives to, "Begin with the end in mind and always exceed expectations."
