Maynard is pleased to congratulate Shareholder Danny Markstein. He has been named a Birmingham Business Journal 2017 "Veteran of Influence." Danny and his fellow nominees were honored at a recent breakfast reception hosted by the BBJ. The annual honor seeks to recognize military veterans who served their country before going on to have successful careers in Birmingham's business world.

When asked about his philosophy on leadership, Danny said, "Lead by example, effort and compassion so that others want to follow." On how his military experience has affected his career, he said, "It brought home to me the value and necessity of teamwork. It also made it easy to stand up in front of judges and to argue with other lawyers who usually weren't shooting at me."

Danny served to the rank of Captain with the United States Army Military Assistance Command Vietnam, and he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
