LEGAL SERVICES ALABAMA DEDICATES 2017 ANNUAL REPORT TO TOMMY WELLS

Tuesday, July 23, 2018
Birmingham, AL. Congratulations to Maynard Shareholder Tommy Wells on being named a Guardian of Justice by Legal Services Alabama (LSA). LSA named Tommy one of its Guardians of Justice for his efforts on behalf of low income and vulnerable families across Alabama: elderly citizens, veterans, victims of abuse, and the underserved, which depend on LSA when they have nowhere else to turn. The organization stated that he stands “as a bridge to making justice for all in need a reality,” and recognized that his work on behalf of free civil legal aid makes it possible for the organization to improve services in every area of the state, offering hope and help to those most in need.
The LSA Board of Directors also dedicated their 2017 Annual Report to Tommy. This dedication was given to show their great appreciation for his support of Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and LSA over the years, including over twenty years of leading the Alabama delegation in the American Bar Association’s “ABA Day” to lobby Congress for support in funding for the LSC.
Tommy is a member of Maynard’s Litigation Practice, concentrating on complex mass tort, environmental, and product liability cases. He served as the American Bar Association President in 2008-2009, and he is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© and one of Alabama’s Top Ten attorneys in Super Lawyers®.
Legal Services Alabama (LSA) serves low-income people by providing free civil legal aid and assistance and by promoting collaboration to find solutions to problems of poverty from eight offices located in: Anniston/Gadsden, Birmingham, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Selma, and Tuscaloosa.
