MAGGIE JOHNSON CORNELIUS AND STARR TURNER DRUM NAMED "RISING STARS OF LAW"

Birmingham, AL. Maynard’s Maggie Johnson Cornelius and Starr Turner Drum were named “Rising Stars of Law” by the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ) for 2018. The list highlights talented lawyers in the Birmingham area selected for their contributions to their firms and potential to shape the industry. The BBJ conducted interviews with each of the honorees.
Maggie Johnson Cornelius, a Shareholder in Maynard’s Corporate, Securities & Tax Practice, tells the BBJ about a time when the securities team helped a client conduct two securities offerings while simultaneously helping another client conduct an initial public offering. She said, “It was a challenging few months, but it was exciting, rewarding, and a great team-building exercise.” She also tells the BBJ that her group is focusing on developments in the cryptocurrency space and what they mean for the future of securities offerings. Starr Turner Drum, an Attorney in Maynard’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice, says that her clients increasingly seek guidance about online and smart device data privacy, international privacy regulations, and impending state privacy laws.
