MAYNARD CONTINUES GROWTH WITH ADDITION OF FIVE EXPERIENCED ATTORNEYS

Birmingham, AL. Maynard & Gale is pleased to announce that five experienced attorneys have joined the Firm - Jamal Al-Haj, Robert ‘Bob” Blackburn, Nathaniel “Nate” Cartmell, and Stephanie Gossett in Maynard’s Corporate practice, and Bradley “Brad” Siegal in its Real Estate practice.

Jamal Al-Haj joins Maynard’s San Francisco office as a Partner in the Corporate Section. He brings extensive experience in the private equity, venture capital and mergers & acquisitions service areas, including representing early, mid- and late-stage private companies as outside corporate counsel. Al-Haj also represents investment banking clients in financial advisory work. His practice will continue to focus on both domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment funds, joint ventures, equity and debt financings and other corporate law matters. Al-Haj is a graduate of George Mason University, and he earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.
With almost 20 years of experience, Brad Siegal joins Maynard’s Real Estate team in the Birmingham office as Of Counsel. He brings a considerable amount of talent and knowledge having represented buyers, sellers, developers, investors, and landlords in all phases of development, financing, leasing, and acquisition of commercial property. He also advises large, mixed-use real estate investment trusts through all facets of acquisitions, dispositions, partnerships, and joint ventures, as well as general corporate matters. In this area, Brad has focused on economic incentives, multi-property and portfolio transactions, and ground-up development opportunities. Siegal earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University, and he holds a B.S. in General Business from The University of Alabama.
Bob Blackburn joins Maynard’s Birmingham office as Of Counsel in the Firm’s Corporate Securities & Tax practice. With a background in business finance, he advises clients in matters involving real estate investments, asset acquisitions, and general commercial financing strategies. Blackburn also works closely with the Firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation team. He earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.A. in Finance, Commerce, and Business Administration from the University of Alabama.
Nate Cartmell joins Maynard from another Birmingham law firm as Of Counsel in the Corporate Securities & Tax practice as well as the Firm’s Banking practice. He handles a broad range of matters for business clients, with a particular focus on those operating in the banking and financial services sector. He also has significant experience advising clients regarding state and federal laws regulating financial services companies. Prior to law school, Cartmell worked as an equity research analyst. He received his J.D from the University of Alabama School of Law and his B.A. in History from Vanderbilt University.
Stephanie Gossett joins Maynard’s Corporate Securities & Tax practice as an experienced Associate. With a transactional background handling matters involving business law, commercial real estate, and commercial finance, Gossett focuses on assisting business owners and executives with the full range of issue and concerns they face, including business succession planning, risk management, asset protection, governance, and compliance. Clients range from family owned and privately-held entities to publicly-traded corporations. She earned her J.D. from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law and her B.S. in Mathematics from Birmingham-Southern College.
