MAYNARD HIRES FOUR NEW ATTORNEYS
Maynard & Gale is pleased to announce the recent addition of four experienced attorneys, Benjamin L. McArthur in Huntsville and Jennifer R. Smith, Taryn E. Hodinka, and Callen B. Thistle in Birmingham.
Benjamin McArthur has joined the Litigation practice group as a Shareholder. Ben brings with him over a decade of litigation and trial experience representing clients in commercial, intellectual property, and real estate matters. He also regularly defends doctors and other healthcare providers in malpractice claims, as well as drug and medical device manufacturers in product liability cases. Ben’s commercial litigation experience includes representing businesses and individuals in contractual disputes and allegations of corporate oppression and fraud. His extensive intellectual property practice includes prosecuting and defending cases involving copyright, trademark, and trade dress infringement claims, as well as handling domain name disputes. Ben received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law, and he is listed in Alabama Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in Business Litigation. Ben is a recent member of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Development Council and serves on the board of the Huntsville-Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program.
Jennifer Smith has joined the Commercial Lending practice group as Of Counsel. She has nine years of experience representing lenders and borrowers in secured and unsecured transactions and multistate transactions. Jennifer earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University law school where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. She received her B. A. from Washington and Lee University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Jennifer is a member of the YWCA Junior Board and is the President of the Episcopal Church Women of St. Mary's-on-the-Highlands.
Taryn Hodinka has joined the Litigation practice group as an Associate, where she will continue to focus her practice on insurance and financial services litigation. Taryn earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and served as the Alabama Editor of the Alabama Law Review. She received her B. A. from the University of Alabama with a major in Political Science and a minor in Public Relations. After law school, Taryn clerked for Magistrate Judge James E. Graham in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
Callen Thistle has joined the firm as an Associate in the Cybersecurity practice. She has several years of litigation experience and will concentrate her practice in cybersecurity and e-discovery. Prior to joining Maynard, Callen clerked for Judge Staci G. Cornelius of the Northern District of Alabama. She earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law and her A.B. from Princeton University. Callen serves on the Junior Board of the YWCA of Central Alabama, and she is a member of the Indian Springs School Alumni Council.
