BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (December 12, 2019) — Maynard Cooper & Gale is pleased to announce three new attorneys who will practice across the Firm’s national footprint – Zachary Mardis, Corban J. Porter, and Hayley N. Scheer. Mardis joins the Huntsville office as an Associate in the Complex Litigation Practice, Porter joins the San Francisco office as Of Counsel in the Financial Services Litigation Practice, and Scheer joins the Birmingham office as an Associate in the Corporate Practice.

Mardis earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude and top 3% of his class. Among other accolades, he served as Class President of the Student Bar Association, Copy Editor of the Cumberland Law Review, member of the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board, and participant of the National Moot Court Competition Team.
Scheer represents business clients of all sizes, ranging from large corporate entities to emerging growth companies. With deep experience in transactions, she focuses a large portion of her practice in the area of mergers and acquisitions. She assists both buyers and sellers with all phases of the negotiation and agreement process, including comprehensive due diligence. Scheer earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law and her LL.M. with honors from the Georgetown University Law Center and The Graduate Institute of Geneva.
Prior to joining Maynard Cooper, Porter worked for a national law firm handling an array of complex and commercial litigation. His experience includes representation of a number of large insurance carriers on a variety of disputes including breach of contract, bad faith, and claims made under California’s Unfair Business Practice Act. Corban graduated from The George Washington University Law School where he was a member of the George Washington University Civil Litigation Clinic.
