MAYNARD’S ALAN ENSLEN ATTENDS 2013 STATE OF ALABAMA BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND TRADE MISSION TO THE NORDIC REGION
Birmingham, Ala. – Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. Shareholder Alan Enslen attended the 2013 Alabama Business Development and Trade Mission to Norway and Sweden in March to assist Alabama’s Secretary of Commerce, Greg Canfield, with economic development initiatives in the Nordic Region and to counsel participating Alabama companies regarding international trade issues involved with exporting to foreign markets.
Enslen, along with 27 other delegates from various entities throughout the State of Alabama, made stops in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden over the course of seven days in order to tout Alabama’s economic development potential and to promote international business opportunities between Alabama and Nordic companies. “Secretary Canfield and the members of the Alabama Economic Development Team were excellent Ambassadors for our State. They did a great job of highlighting the unique opportunities that Alabama has to offer companies looking to break into the U.S. market.” Also, due to the diligent efforts of Robert Stackpole and his colleagues in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service prior to the trade mission, Alabama companies were able to hold substantive and meaningful discussions with potential business partners in both Norway and Sweden. In my experience, the U.S. Commercial Service is an asset that is underutilized by Alabama companies. It can be a tremendous help to companies seeking foreign market access,” said Enslen. Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C., was founded in 1984 and in its short but dynamic history has grown to more than 220 attorneys, emerging as a leading law firm in Alabama as well as the Southeast.
