Maynard & Gale is pleased to announce that Shareholder Brad Wood has been selected as a recipient of The M&A Advisor’s 2017 Emerging Leaders Awards. This annual award recognizes young professionals who have achieved notable accomplishments in business and in service to their community. Wood is one of only two legal advisors selected from Alabama.

“With the expansion of the Emerging Leaders program to the United Kingdom, and Europe in 2016, the 2017 U.S. award winners join a truly global network of outstanding young professionals,” said David Fergusson, President and Co-CEO of The M&A Advisor. “It is our belief that the Emerging Leader Award winners will continue to have a significant effect on the advancement of our industry,” added Fergusson. A panel of 19 business leaders judged the submissions and made the final selections, each of whom will be introduced at an Awards Gala at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan on September 19, 2017.

Wood is a Shareholder in Maynard & Gale’s Corporate Securities & Tax Group and Chair of the firm’s M&A/Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice. He counsels a wide variety of companies, including public and private operating companies, private equity and venture capital funds, and family offices. While he represents companies of all types and sizes, he has developed particular expertise in middle-market private company transactions on both the buy- and sell-side. Wood advises clients through mergers and acquisitions, as well as a broad range of other transactions, including divestitures, private equity and venture capital financings, "add on" acquisitions, minority and dividend recapitalizations, and joint ventures. With his clients’ goals at the forefront of his practice, Wood also regularly guides clients through corporate governance issues and provides general counsel and strategic business advice.
