Maynard & Gale is pleased to announce that Jon L. Mills has joined the firm’s Corporate, Securities & Tax Practice group as an Associate. As both a Certified Public Accountant and attorney, Jon has extensive experience in assisting businesses and individuals with federal and state income tax matters.

Jon earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and he received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration as well as a Master’s in Accounting from Samford University where he was also a member of the varsity basketball team. Prior to law school and joining the Maynard team, Jon worked for almost six years as an accountant in private practice in Birmingham. At Maynard, Jon's practice will focus on federal, state, and local tax matters, mergers and acquisitions tax, and economic development.

Maynard's Tax Practice Group attorneys are experienced in advising and representing clients concerning all types of federal, state/local and foreign taxes. The firm provides general tax planning advice and counseling and tax consulting on issues related to business activities and transactions (including executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions and dispositions of stock or assets).
