MAYNARD COOPER SHAREHOLDER ALVIN HOPE APPOINTED TO ALABAMA STATE PORT AUTHORITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Maynard Cooper & Gale is pleased to announce Shareholder Alvin Hope with the Firm’s Mobile office will serve on the Board of Directors for the Alabama State Port Authority. Mr. Hope was appointed to the Board earlier this fall by Governor Robert Bentley. He was appointed to a five year term and will represent the Southern District. His appointment was confirmed by the Alabama State Senate. The Alabama State Port Authority owns and operates the public, deep-water port facilities in the Port of Mobile, handling over 25 million tons of cargo annually.

Mr. Hope is a member of the Firm's Public Finance group. His practice includes the representation of Alabama cities, counties, boards of education, and utility systems in a variety of transactions. He also assists the firm’s Governmental and Regulatory Affairs practice group with representation of clients before legislative, regulatory, and governmental bodies, including the U.S. Congress, the Alabama State Legislature, and departments and agencies of the federal, state and local government.
