MAYNARD’S STARR TURNER DRUM APPOINTED TO SEDONA CONFERENCE STEERING COMMITTEE ON DATA SECURITY AND PRIVACY LIABILITY

Maynard shareholder Starr Turner Drum has been appointed to the Sedona Conference® Working Group 11 Steering Committee on Data Security and Privacy Liability.
Steering Committee appointees take a leadership role in facilitating in-depth analyses of emerging issues in law to produce high-quality, non-partisan commentary and guidance of immediate, practical benefit. Working Group 11 focuses on developing best practices drawn from legislative developments in privacy and data security, civil litigation arising from privacy and data security violations, and regulatory enforcement of privacy and data security laws, in order to:
- help organizations take action to minimize their legal exposure;
- inform affected parties of their rights and responsibilities; and
- assist in the coordination of regulatory, law enforcement, and judicial responses to privacy and security incidents.
Starr is a shareholder in Maynard’s Cybersecurity and Privacy practice group. She has extensive experience in developing globally compliant privacy and information governance policies and programs to manage the content and volume of data and protect its safety and security. Her appointment to the Working Group 11 Steering Committee follows her participation in Sedona Conference brainstorming groups and drafting teams. Starr is also a frequent speaker on emerging issues in privacy and data security.
