Maynard & Gale is pleased to announce Shareholder Jodie Smith was appointed to the 2015-2016 Board of Directors for the National Association of Bond Lawyers. The National Association of Bond Lawyers (“NABL”) exists to promote the integrity of the municipal securities market by advancing the understanding of and compliance with the law affecting public finance. A professional association incorporated in 1979, NABL has approximately 2,700 members and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

Jodie is a Shareholder in the firm’s Birmingham office and serves as Chair of the Public Finance practice. He also is a member of several other practices in the firm’s Corporate section and focuses on finance and securities transactions. Jodie advises government, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations on taxable and tax-exempt financings, serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, issuer’s counsel, and underwriter’s counsel. Jodie also advises clients on related matters, including other types of tax-advantaged financings such as deals eligible for New Markets Tax Credits, financing restructurings, interest rate swaps, and tender offers.
