Chris Harnett, a Shareholder in Maynard's New York Office, focuses his practice on the litigation of intellectual property matters. Over the past three decades, Chris has litigated cases in more than 35 jurisdictions around the country, prevailing for clients at the pleadings stage, during claim construction, in securing and opposing preliminary injunctive relief, on summary judgment, at bench and jury trials, and after appellate review. Those cases involved a wide range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, computer systems, and consumer products.
Chris works closely with clients to develop integrated legal and business-focused strategies that best serve their needs, relying on his strong background in science and his litigation expertise. A registered patent attorney, Chris also represents clients in IPR proceedings and assists clients in managing their patent portfolios and in evaluating the competitive patent landscape in anticipation of potential litigation.
After graduating from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1990, Chris began his career at the preeminent intellectual property law firm, Fish & Neave, where he was a Partner for many years.
