Eric assists clients as outside general counsel, with an emphasis in commercial contracting. A member of the Corporate Securities & Tax Practice Group, he has extensive involvement in the area of contract management and administration and advises business clients through all stages of the contract process.
Recognizing the needs of clients to increase revenue, mitigate risk, and protect intellectual property and business interests, Eric provides thoughtful and meticulous counsel to help improve and safeguard clients’ business operations. He regularly works with a broad range of commercial contracts, including manufacturing/supply agreements, services agreements, and technology related agreements. His experience also includes handling operational contracts, software and intellectual property licensing and development, loan broker and installment licenses, purchase agreements, oilfield products agreements, and construction related agreements.
With transactions at the cornerstone of Eric’s practice, he frequently supports the firm’s M&A deal teams, assisting in the areas of due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and regulatory compliance processes. He advises on banking and finance related regulatory issues, including Gramm-Leach-Bliley compliance. He also has experience with private equity and other offerings and is knowledgeable about federal and state level securities exemptions.
Prior to joining Maynard, Eric was in private practice for ten years in Omaha, Nebraska. Eric earned his J.D. with a concentration in corporate and commercial law from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, and he holds a B.A. in international studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While in college, he studied abroad two semesters at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan.
