Overview

Hugh is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Corporate Securities & Tax Practice Group.

Hugh advises investment fund managers in connection with private fund formation and ongoing operations. Hugh helps managers navigate applicable regulatory and securities laws compliance. Hugh has experience working with established fund managers as well as first-time and emerging fund managers across a variety of asset classes and investment strategies, such as private equity, venture capital, real estate and other alternative investment strategies.

Prior to joining Maynard, Hugh worked in the financial statement audit group for a national accounting firm in D.C. He provided financial audit, review, and compilation services for corporate, nonprofit, and governmental clients.

He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Samford University Cumberland School of Law, where he served as an Editor on the Cumberland Law Review. He holds a Masters in Accountancy from the University of Alabama, Culverhouse School of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science with Special Attainments in Commerce in Accounting and Business Administration from Washington and Lee University.
