Overview

Josh is a Shareholder at Maynard and focuses his practice on defending insurance companies, banks, and other financial institutions in a variety of complex litigation matters. Josh routinely represents insurance companies in bad faith life and disability lawsuits, first-party property disputes, and third-party liability disputes, as well as represents managed care organizations in provider disputes and other claims disputes. In that role, Josh has defended insurers and MCOs in class actions, antitrust litigation, and other lawsuits throughout the country. Josh also provides regulatory advice to insurance companies regarding anti-fraud compliance, SIU investigations, annual reporting, and market conduct examinations.

Josh also has extensive experience defending financial institutions, debt buyers, mortgage companies, and mortgage servicers in claims arising from federal and state consumer protection statutes, including Truth in Lending Act (“TILA”), Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (“RESPA”), and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”). Josh also provides regulatory advice to clients regarding the CFPB, along with state and federal statutes and regulations.

Josh holds a joint J.D./M.B.A. which enables him to efficiently assess his clients’ needs across these practice areas, both in litigation and from a business perspective. In recognition of his achievements as a litigator, Josh has been named a “Rising Star” by Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2018, and he is listed in the Best Lawyers in America© “Ones to Watch.”
