Melissa is an Associate in the firm’s General Litigation Practice Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Melissa worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael F. Urbanski, the Chief United States District Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. While there, she drafted substantive court opinions, orders on motions, and bench memoranda, in addition to performing legal research to prepare the judge for matters involving employment law, securities law, personal injury, tort, and contractual and surety law as they relate to construction disputes. Melissa also worked at a regional firm where she collaborated with case teams, assisted with discovery, and supervised document review.
Melissa received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she served as the Symposium Editor for the Emory International Law Review, and was the President of Street Law, Inc., as well as the Vice President of the Asian American Law Students Association. She earned her B.A. in History and Business Administration from Fordham University, where she was a a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
