Stephen is a Shareholder in the Correctional Litigation, General Litigation, Complex Litigation, and Construction practices at Maynard Cooper.
He has experience representing clients in civil rights litigation, breach of contract suits in the construction industry, and medical malpractice actions. Recent experience includes defending clients in class actions and putative class actions throughout the country and representing clients in high-profile investigations brought by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prior to joining Maynard Cooper, Stephen completed a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Hugh Lawson in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Stephen also worked in private practice and has experience involving claims of wrongful death, premises liability, insurance coverage, negligent construction, conversion, bad faith, and wantonness.
Stephen received his J.D. magna cum laude from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law with a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research and Drafting. He holds an M.A. from the University of Alabama and a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Memphis.
