Stewart's Profile

Stewart has extensive experience representing clients in commercial litigation, investigations, regulatory matters, and criminal prosecutions. He also assists clients with designing and implementing corporate governance, risk, and compliance programs. Utilizing the Firm’s national footprint, Stewart has represented individual and corporate clients from across the country and globe.

Stewart’s litigation experience has focused on commercial litigation matters in a variety of industries. He is well attuned to his clients’ needs in each particular case, whether it involves pursuing a mutually beneficial business resolution or aggressive litigation. Much of Stewart’s recent practice has involved navigating a wholesale distributor through opioid-related litigation, including a national multi-district litigation. On the criminal and regulatory side, Stewart’s practice has involved representing clients from the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries involved in government investigations and prosecutions, False Claims Act qui tam litigation, and regulatory actions.

In his compliance practice, Stewart assists clients in assessing risk and designing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs so that they can prevent, detect, and fix problems before they result in government investigations and litigation. Stewart has significant experience designing and running third-party due diligence and management programs for multinational companies. He has also handled a number of internal corporate investigations, including international investigations in Asia, Europe, and South America.

Prior to joining Maynard, Stewart served as a congressional intern in the office of Representative Travis Childers and a senatorial intern in the office of Senator Richard Shelby in Washington, D.C.
