Overview

Tim has represented businesses and industries in asbestos, environmental, toxic tort, personal injury, and product liability litigation since graduation from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1992. His practice has focused largely on multi-party litigation, including class-actions and asbestos claims. For the past 11 years, Tim has served as Lead Defense Liaison Counsel in all Asbestos Litigation filed in the State of Alabama, including Alabama cases filed in the Multidistrict Litigation to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Tim served as Associate Counsel for the Archdiocese of Mobile and in this role provided counsel on matters ranging from employment, school law, and health care to business and real estate, as well as representing the Archdiocese in a wide range of litigation matters, including allegations of clergy sexual abuse. In addition to his litigation practice, Tim also counsels clients in probate matters, including estate administration, wills, and commitment proceedings.

Tim is active in numerous professional, civic, charitable and religious organizations, having served in several capacities as an officer and chairperson, including Spring Hill College (National and Mobile, Alabama Alumni Associations); St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School (Parish Council, Development Advisory Board, and Building Committee); the Chamber of Commerce Development Campaign; and L’Arche Mobile, Inc. (assisted living homes for mentally challenged adults). Tim has taught undergraduate and certification legal courses at local colleges and institutions, and he is frequently invited to lecture at seminars in areas related to his practice.

Tim is licensed to practice in the state of Alabama and before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third and Eleventh Circuits. He is a Member of the Mobile Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). In 2011, he obtained the designation of Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) after completing studies at the Litigation Management Institute at Columbia Law School. He is currently serving a second term as President of the Alabama Chapter of the CLM, and has co-authored the CLM Alabama Claims Handling Guide, which serves as a reference source for insurance professionals.
