Xeris' Profile

Xeris "Karis" is an Associate in Maynard’s Cybersecurity & Privacy and Litigation practice groups, and has earned the ANSI-Accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S., (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

She works with the Firm’s team members to assist clients with privacy and cybersecurity compliance, policy development, regulatory investigations, and privacy and cybersecurity risk evaluations associated with M&A transactions. She also provides support with various cyber-related matters, from data breach planning, response, and recovery to evaluating cyber liability insurance coverage to best position claims for maximum insurance recovery.

While Xeris concentrates her practice in the area of cybersecurity and privacy, she also has experience in a wide variety of business-related litigation, particularly complex and mass torts cases, and she navigates complex statutory issues focusing on federal law.

Xeris received her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was President of the Student Bar Association, a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, and Editor of The Journal of Legal Profession. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.
