BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (January 27, 2020) — Maynard is pleased to announce that Shruti Jaishankar has joined the Birmingham office as an Associate in Maynard’s Securities and Financial Services practice group.

Shruti is experienced in representing brokerage firms in arbitration proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Prior to joining Maynard, Shruti clerked on the 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama with the Honorable James F. Hughey III and the Honorable Tamara Harris Johnson and worked as a staff attorney for Maynard. In addition, Shruti speaks conversational Spanish and is a native speaker of Tamil.

Shruti received her JD from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was the Acquisitions Editor for the Alabama Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Law Review. Shruti was also a member of the Healthcare Transactional Moot Court Team and the Trial Team. She holds a BA in International Studies, Political Science, and Spanish from the University of Mississippi. During her time at Ole Miss, Shruti studied abroad in Valparaiso, Chile and was the president of the Mock Trial team.
