Thomas W. Thagard III, shareholder at Maynard & Gale, is the new President of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham. Tom has served in numerous leadership positions of the Kiwanis Club, including Secretary, Membership Chair, and Programs Chair, as well as on its Board of Directors. Tom follows in the footsteps of many distinguished Birmingham leaders, including Maynard's own Drayton Nabors, who served as President in 2012. Tom will lead during the club’s centennial year, which will include some special events and initiatives within the Birmingham community.

The Kiwanis Club is a philanthropic organization devoted to serving the children of the world. The Birmingham chapter has the largest membership base of the more than 6,000 chapters and is known as "The Cradle of Kiwanis as a Service Organization."

Kiwanis International is comprised of 250,000 members who pledge their time and energy to executing the Kiwanian mission in more than 80 nations and geographic regions throughout the world. Each year, Kiwanis clubs raise more than $100 million and sponsor nearly 150,000 service projects to help improve the lives of children worldwide.
