
Trice’s Profile
Trice is a Shareholder and member of the Firm’s General Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups.
Trice represents businesses from a wide spectrum of industries, including manufacturing, banking and finance, insurance, construction, waste disposal, and timber and forest products. He has been involved in numerous significant business transactions throughout the Southeast, including high-profile mergers and acquisitions. His corporate experience spans several areas of practice.
General Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions
A significant portion of Trice’s practice is devoted to assisting clients with corporate and transactional matters, with a non-exclusive emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. He frequently assists companies of all sizes with the review and preparation of contracts and other business documents, the organization and formation of business entities and the resolution of commercial and business disputes.
International Trade
Trice also advises business clients on the legal aspects of international trade, usually with respect to import controls and customs regulations. He assists clients with compliance matters relating to product classification, valuation, and country of origin determinations and with issues pertaining to anti-dumping and countervailing duties. He has represented clients in administrative forfeiture proceedings involving the seizure of assets by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection. Trice is a contributing author to multiple publications of the International Trade Section of the American Bar Association.
Commercial and Business Litigation
Using his knowledge of the corporate sector, Trice has also successfully litigated commercial and business disputes in Alabama’s state and federal courts (on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants). He has defended financial institutions and insurance companies in numerous commercial and consumer disputes. He has represented owners, designers, and contractors in litigation arising from industrial, commercial and residential construction projects.
He received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, and he holds a B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama. Trice was selected for Mobile Bay’s 2016 Class of 40 Under Forty, a distinguished group of young leaders recognized for their professional accomplishments and civic contributions.
